I’ve met up with a couple of seniors – Tapan who is from the batch of 1995 and Dhananjay who is from the batch of 1985.
I was generously invited by Tapan for a small get together for the 1995 batch at Defence Colony, New Delhi and was hence able to meet Rashu [ in the hospitality business ], Piyush [ a lawyer & expecting a baby soon ], Manav [ didn't have much time to catch up as I was in a rush to leave ] and Gurneet [ factory in Manesar ]. This was a couple of months back so accuracy in my memory fails as to what each one does. Maybe I’ll ask Tapan to fill me in with the details.
It appears that activity on the alumni forums increases whenever the get together takes place in February every year and apart from that everyone is happy ignoring eachother.
Some other handful of people I’ve met : Achal with his wife at Turquoise Cottage [ newly opened in place of Opus ], Rustam Sanga at Buzz where I was celebrating my birthday, Madhur Ramani who was invited to my birthday get together since he is a close friend, Siddharth Saharan again at Buzz and that’s it.
There was a rumor born sometime in the course of all the above happenings that a certain classmate of ours had kicked the bucket. There were flurries of phone calls back and forth and one moron even called up that classmate’s home to ascertain the goings-on – sure would have been quite a scare if this moron had asked the classmate’s mother “So, is he dead?”. Fortunately, this moron hung up as soon as he’d heard the “Hello.” and the conclusion drawn was that the tone of the voice mouthing the “Hello” did not sound distressed.
Of course, eventually, someone called me up to confirm the same and to dispel the rumor I called up the one person who knows the “thought-to-have-kicked-the-bucket” classmate rather well. Causing some indigestion I’m sure, but the rumor was of course dispelled. The classmate was and still is hale and hearty in red-dot country, no doubt enjoying the non-company of imbeciles.
Also, of course, Sangrahm Singh got married to pretty lady Mansi who is an air-hostess and I had the pleasure of attending the reception at the much-hated-yet-still-revered DSOI. During the attendance and a couple of glasses of whiskey, I also met up with Sachin Pushkarna, Brijender Singh and Tribhuvan [ who looks exactly the same even after more than a decade and a half ]. I’m pretty sure Sangrahm and his lady love must’ve had their laughs at video clips of Sachin and I dubiously trying to hide from the lens & the glare.
So there.
I’ve also added a tiny “Donate” button on the right – in case someone’s feeling generous in helping me pay for this domain and it’s upkeep. Of course, it’s probably a hope in hell, but then, it’s something.
